Here, skiers, pedestrians, and sleighs share the snow-covered streets, creating a unique and magical atmosphere. Leave your car in the parking area, enjoy a peaceful environment, and experience something truly extraordinary.

Built on a gentle slope, the village of Avoriaz 1800 allows ski access throughout the resort. Everything is reachable on skis, even the bakery. With shortcuts and public lifts, you can cross the resort on foot in less than 15 minutes. The 20 coachmen and their 100 horses provide a taxi service, while snowcat shuttles take over at night and are available 24/7 if you wish.

How far from Avoriaz can I park my car to access the pedestrian-only resort?

As the resort is car-free, parking is only available at the entrance. Covered car parks are located right next to the unloading docks, the departure point for snowcats and horse-drawn sleighs to take you to your accommodation. An open-air car park, located just a 5-minute walk from the resort entrance, is also available. Another car park is located lower down, at the Prodains cable car station, for quick access to Avoriaz via the Prodains Express gondola.

How many ski lifts can I access from Avoriaz?

From Avoriaz, you have direct access to the entire Portes du Soleil ski area, with over 308 slopes, 209 ski lifts, and 10 snowparks spanning both France and Switzerland. It’s the perfect starting point to explore one of the largest interconnected ski areas in Europe.
