Ski from Avoriaz to Switzerland — it's possible!

Dreaming of crossing the border on skis? With our interactive trail map, it’s easy to reach Switzerland from Avoriaz. The Portes du Soleil ski pass lets you ski from France to Switzerland via connected lifts and marked runs suitable for all levels.

Route 1 – Via the Chavanette sector

From the Arare sector, take the Stade chairlift then follow the blue run “Aller de Chavanette.”
Once in Chavanette, take the Choucas chairlift or Chavanette draglift, then choose between two options:

  • Tackle the iconic Swiss Wall, one of the steepest black runs in Europe.
  • Take the Chavanette chairlift for a smooth descent directly into Switzerland.

Route 2 – Via Lindarets and Mossettes

From the top of the Proclou or Tour chairlifts, ski down to Lindarets via blue runs Covagnes or Sapinette.
Follow signs to Brochaux or Mossettes via Blue Velvet or Cascade, then take the Mossettes chairlift up to the French-Swiss border.
From there, follow the Grand Conche blue run or signs for Champéry - Les Crosets on the Swiss side.

Important: These cross-border routes are accessible only with a Portes du Soleil ski pass. Be sure to have the right pass to explore the full international ski area.
